WHAT IS NANOTECHNOLOGY?
Nanotechnology is a science capable of operating at the atomic level on a dimensional scale smaller than a micrometer. It enables the design and production of new materials — nanomaterials — used in the development of ultra-high-performance products and equipment. The plastics industry uses nanomaterials to create polymers with superior performance in terms of durability, mechanical strength, and aesthetic properties.

WHAT IS NANOMOLDCOATING®
NanoMoldCoating or NanoMold Release was formulated using nanotechnology to create a semi-permanent barrier on the surface of molds that facilitates the detachment of plastic or rubber parts. The polymerized injection mold coating is a colorless, non-toxic, and cured polymer film, only 100-200 nanometers thick; therefore, it does not affect the size of the finished parts.
HOW DOES NANOMOLDCOATING WORK?
Nanoplas mold coatings are formulated from several chemical components that self-assemble when applied to a substrate. These components work together to form a nanoscale, microscopic mesh that prevents polymer molecules from coming into contact with the surface structures of the substrate. This network is permeable to vapor, allowing gases to escape from the substrate and allowing the coating to “breathe”.
Once NanoMoldCoating is applied it is completed in two stages. In the first stage, it anchors itself to the substrate by filling the microscopic hills and depressions of the substrate and adhering to the free molecules on the surface. In the second step, the coating is cross-linked during curing, forming the microscopic nano-network structure that contains hydrophobic and phobic oleo properties.
This structure can withstand a wide temperature range from -40°C to 500°C without compromising the stability of the nano-mesh crosslinking structure or its adhesion to the substrate. NanoMoldCoating has an inherent flexibility that allows it to stretch and contract with the substrate within these temperature ranges without breaking or detaching.
ADVANTAGES OF NANOMOLD COATING
•Increases productivity: more pieces per hour, per shift, per day
•Flexibility: applicable quickly and easily at home
•Improves material flow in molds due to its low friction coefficient
•Improves filling of pieces and allows for easy release
•Allows you to reduce the injection pressure and temperature
•Removes streaks and marks when filling the mold
•Acts as a corrosion inhibitor and prevents oxidation
•Facilitates the cleaning of material accumulations due to gaseous resins
•Eliminates the use of aerosols and other release agents
•Does not migrate to the surface of the piece.
•Can be used in cleanrooms and secondary painting systems
•Maintains the dimensional integrity of the molds.
