For high-precision industries such as automotive, electronics, and medical, even slight imperfections are unacceptable and can result in costly rework or scrap. <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Without an adequate detachment product, the following problems arise:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>surface defects, tears and deformations of the product<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>increase in waste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>high cycle times<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>increased machine stops<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p> <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>An effective release agent must:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To create a stable and uniform barrier between rubber and metal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>withstand temperature and pressure without degrading<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>do not interfere with the vulcanization process (crosslinking)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ensure easy extraction and consistent surface quality<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>reduce mold contamination and cleaning frequency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>last for several cycles and allow process stability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ensure low transferability to the piece<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ensure compatibility with subsequent activities (gluing, painting, printing) when required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be easy to apply<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p> <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Common mistakes and defects on parts:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>Many manufacturing defects result from errors in the use of the release agent:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apply too much product: (excessive application can leave films cooking on the mold) contaminated pieces, sticky pieces, presence of streaks, surface defects, dimensional variations<\/li>\n\n<li>Apply too little product: difficulty detaching, damaged pieces<\/li>\n\n<li>Application on dirty molds: residue accumulation and loss of effectiveness<\/li>\n\n<li>Detachant not compatible with final part requirements and subsequent treatments: problems in subsequent stages (gluing, painting, coating, printing)<\/li>\n\n<li>Detachant not compatible with certain compounds: chemical interaction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p> <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to choose the ideal release agent:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p>There is no \u201cbest release agent\u201d overall, nor a universal solution suitable for all applications. While theory is a fundamental element, nothing is more effective than practical fieldwork to evaluate the various alternatives available. <\/p>\n\n<p>Based on our experience, we selected three types of release agent: two semi-permanent thermosetting silicone formulations and an innovative formulation that replaces silicone with PTFE additives.<\/p>\n\n<p>We make these solutions available to our partners to enable compatibility testing directly within their respective manufacturing processes.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>The final choice depends on:<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Elastomer type (NR, SBR, EPDM, NBR, silicone, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Vulcanization process (temperature, pressure)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Geometry and finishing of the piece<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Post-process needs (painting, bonding, sector:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Release agents \u201cfood grade\u201d work very well as light lubricants, but in general do not withstand high temperatures and severe vulcanization cycles well. Food certification requires a less aggressive chemical formulation and the result is a lower-performing release product than non-food products. <\/p>\n\n<p>Very approximate to me you can expect:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>10\u201330 cycles for well-applied high-end H1 semi-permanent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1\u201310 cycles for simple H1 release agents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p> <\/p>\n\n<p>If the final piece needs to come into direct contact with food, traditional silicone is very often avoided because:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>may interfere with post-treatmentsi<\/li>\n\n<li>create surface contamination<\/li>\n\n<li>or migrate slightly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p> <\/p>\n\n<p>For this reason, a lot of use is made in the food sector:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>or water-based systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>release agent \u201cdry film\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>fluorinated<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>low-transfer semi-permanent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p> <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The rubber vulcanization release agent is not a simple consumable but is a determining process factor: it directly affects quality, efficiency and costs.
