The manifold is the distribution backbone of any hot runner system, the channel network that carries molten plastic from the sprue bushing to every drop and nozzle. When a manifold develops internal leaks, carbon buildup, or wear at the sealing and probe interfaces, the effects show up everywhere downstream: shot-to-shot inconsistency, cavity imbalance, plastic leaks between plates, and in severe cases, unplanned line stoppage.

Our Manifold Refurbishment Process

1. Disassembly and inspection The manifold is removed from the hot half and fully disassembled for inspection of internal channels, sealing surfaces, and probe/nozzle interfaces.

2. Thermal and chemical cleaning Internal flow channels are cleaned of degraded resin, carbon deposits, and contamination using non-abrasive thermal and chemical methods — the same core cleaning capability used across our hot runner and pyrolysis services — without altering channel geometry or dimensional tolerances.

3. Dimensional and flow-path assessment (Flag: confirm whether PCT actually re-measures/verifies flow channel dimensions and balance, or whether this step should be reworded to match your real capability.)

4. Sealing surface and wear repair Worn or pitted sealing surfaces, probe seats, and heater pockets are repaired or reconditioned to restore proper contact and prevent future leak paths.

5. Heater and thermocouple restoration Manifold-mounted heaters and thermocouples are tested, repaired, or replaced as needed — consistent with our broader hot runner electrical service.

6. Reassembly and testing The refurbished manifold is reassembled and tested for thermal balance and sealing integrity before it’s returned to service or reinstalled.
